Martie began her insurance career over thirty years ago as an assistant to a heavy equipment and trucking adjuster in an independent adjusting firm. Currently, Martie handles large commercial accounts.

Martie has served as an instructor for the Independent Insurance Agents of Oregon, Idaho, and Montana, the National Association of Insurance Women, and the Oregon PIA. In 1999, she was named Oregon CSR of the Year, and finished as one of five finalists nationally.

She was a member of the first graduating class of Accredited Advisors in Insurance, received her CIC designation in 1989, her Accreditation in Claims in 1998, and her Associate in Risk Management in 2006.
