John Mostoller

After graduating from Eastern Washington University in 1981 with a B.A. in Business Administration, John began his career in the insurance industry that same year with Walton-Mostoller Insurance. His father, Roger Mostoller, was the agency principal and a long-time industry veteran; John spent the next 11 years under his Dad's tutelage honing his insurance knowledge and skills. In 1992 Spencer Kinney bought the agency and John joined their team. With Spencer-Kinney, John serviced all types of commercial accounts including farms, wineries, orchards, and contractors with bonding needs. He established a contractors division within the agency. In 2004, Spencer-Kinney was purchased by Western States Insurance, and John joined their team. For the next three years his new business appetite consisted of contractors with surety lines and large agri-business accounts. In 2007, John became the Branch Manager for the Richland and Prosser locations. Besides servicing his clientele, he also manages the branches for profit/loss, and focuses his energies on coaching our Agents and Brokers to be their best for our customers!

John is a Tri-City native [Kennewick], has a wife and two daughters, plus a golden retriever. John says, "We just call her a golden, as at 4 years old, she still hasn't figured out the ‘retriever' part!" As a Christian, John believes in giving back to the community. John has been active in Kiwanis [a past club president], and several other activities including the Tri-City Water Follies – aka the "boat races" [also a past president, and long-time race director]. John is also a past president of our local Independent Insurance Agents of Benton-Franklin Counties.
